Weekend Herb Blogging #174 – Recap

WHB #174
Welcome to Weekend Herb Blogging!

I am honored to host this weekend. Thanks to Haalo for giving me this opportunity to serve all your yummy treats here on my blog!

Since I am in Europe and came home really late yesterday I ran a little late with the round up, but here we go anyway :)

Next week your host will be:

Yasmeen from Healthnut
Send your posts to yasmeenhealthnut AT gmail DOT com
Please include a photo sized: 350px wide

soursopicecream
Sarina Nicole from Trinidad made a delicious Soursop Ice cream.

She adds some interesting information about this fruit too which is said to taste like strawberry and pineapple mixed together… sounds interesting to my tongue :)

Baked Ginger Soy Fish Wrapped in Banana Leaf
Wiffy from Singapore features Banana Leaf in her dish and makes Baked Ginger Soy Fish Wrapped in Banana Leaf.

Banana Leaf is very common in Asian cooking and makes a dish very interesting and presentable even for new cooks :)

lentilsoup275
Genie form Oakland makes soup: Quick lemony lentil soup!

Like the title says its made quick and does not use many ingredients but it sure sounds yummy and worth a try even if you are not a soup lover like me!

Pam, whom I know and love from Weekend Cat Blogging, stepped on the sweet tooth and use two of my favorite ingredients for her Cranberry Rosemary Muffins.

I even can imagine the smell of cranberries and rosemary together in one steaming little muffin :)

Jerry from Ontario (Canada) made some delicious looking Fresh Spring Rolls. Mmmmh! He used Thai Basil as featured Herb.

Jerry also has additional information on Thai Basil for us and even a link tip :)
[...]It has a more assertive taste than many other sweet basils. The herb has small leaves, purple stems and a subtle licorice or mint flavor[...]

Joanne from Boston (love that city!) made Sweet Potato and Refried Bean Pitas.

I always love to cook with sweet potatos, although they are not too easy to buy here.
It looks so tasty! And by the way Joanne, I envy you for going to a Dropkick Murphys concert *smile*

Haalo, the now leading Lady of WHB, made some delicious looking Baby Cos Lettuce Salad.

Did you know that: Cos is also known as Romaine Lettuce and is a member of the Daisy family? Me neither! ;o) but that’s what I love about WHB always learning new things!

body scrub 1
My friend Brii, from Valsorda (Italy) made a wonderful body scrub.

Brii also shares some tips on using the scrub. If you love your friends give it away as gift (like Brii did) or use it all alone for yourself ;o)
Oh and thanks for the kitty pics my friend!

Cinzia from Bardolino (Italy) made Almond Brittle – another one for the sweet tooth like me ;o))

She says: Brittle is very popular in most fairs and country festivals, we always used to buy it at candies kiosks!

Now this concludes this week’s WHB thanks to all of you for participating and those stopping by the recap. I hope you had fun reading and maybe we’ll see each other next Sunday at Yasmeen’s!

P.S. Since I had some problems with my mailbox I use for this domain during the past two weeks (which should be solved by now!), if your submission is not in this recap right now, please leave a short message in the comments below, ’cause then I did not get it. I will add you as soon as possible tho! Thanks!!
