Honey-glazed oven ribs
Normally ribs would be Mrs Q.’s comfort zone, she makes wonderful ribs by the way. But when I saw this beautiful babyribs at my local market some weeks agon I just had to give them a try and as Mr T. (her husband) loves ribs too I made them for us for Sunday lunch with some potato wedges:

You need for the rub:
2 ts grated ginger
1 clove garlic, minced
Salt and pepper
1 ts rosemary, crushed
1/2 c honey
1/2 ts crushed red chilies[1]
1/4 c lime juice
1/2 ts ground sage[2]
2 ts grated lime peel
I prepared the rub the night before (just combine all ingredients together in a bowl.) and placed the ribs together with the “rub” in a ziploc plastic bag. They marinated over night and were just perfect the other day!!
I placed them in an oven proof plate and grilled them at 250°C until they were brown and crispy outside and real juicy and mellow inside.
For the potato wedges I just washed and cut my potatoes and rubbed them with salt, paprika and a little bit Garam Masala, put them in the oven next to the ribs for about 20 minutes.
I really liked the taste of the ribs: a hint of honey, a smack of lime juice and some herby notes to jingle your taste buds…
- I left them out, ’cause I don’t like it too hot and had no chili on hand anyway ↩ back
- used fresh one ↩ back
