[Weekend Herb Blogging] # 97 – Rose Oil

This week WHB is hosted by Scott @ Real Epicurean!
Still not much cooking around here. Monday Mr G. will be back from holidays hopefully then we will be back to more cooking.
Meanwhile I was playing around with my herbs (harvesting them to dry and have some on stock for more tea blends and spice blends to cook).

Rose Oil
Mrs Q. gave me some of her dried rose leaves (in fact it was a tea but with poor quality so she didn’t like it) and I was wondering what to do with it.
Today – remembering her lavender oil I decided to use some to make a rose scented oil.

I used about 200 ml grape seed oil, 4 tablespoons rose leaves, 1 cinnamon stick, 2 dried mace and some vanilla powder (as I unfortunately had no vanilla beans available). I heated the oil to a bit more than handwarm and added all other ingredients, purred it into an airt-tight glass and let it steep for at least 1 week.
