First Barbecue 2009!

19 May 2009 2 Comments

You know, since I live in a flat in the city, I do not have to many opportunities to barbecue. I have a small balcony but it would not be a very good idea to start a barbecue there, hehe….

So I am always happy when I am at home with my family during the summer days where we have a huge garden and a wonderful patio.

Last year our first barbecue was Easter Sunday I believe. This year we had it on Mother’s Day. We all love to barbecue and neither of us wanted to fuss too much with cooking lunch on Mother’s Day so we decided it was the perfect time to start this year’s barbecue season.

First Barbecue 2009 - Mother's Day 2009

Above you can see my Dad – the barbecue chef himself – it always amazes me how much fun men have when they get to barbecue. The more because you definitely would not see my Dad cooking in the kitchen… In fact most of the preparing cores, like seasoning the meat, cutting the potatoes and making the side dishes such as salads is done by my Mom and me anyway.

He is the best barbecuing chef tho and the world best crepe maker!! ;o)
Did I mention that I love my Dad?!

As you can tell by the pictures tho there is not much of a recipe to tell you tho… We just took some steaks (beef, pork and chicken) and seasoned (olive oil, gralic, thyme, rosemary,…) them. Cut potatoes in thin slices tho make them crunchy and prepared some cucumber salad and a yoghurt-garlic dressing.

Very basic but aaaah so yummy!

Happy Barbecue Season!!
